Slip Use and Tips

Hauling Out:

You’ll need four strong ropes ready beforehand. One for each arm of the cradle.

Really short (deep), bulb, or winged keeled boats will need their own slings. Talk to the slip master.

Don’t forget to get fleeced by the chandlers and paint suppliers well before the slipping date.

On the day:

Allow for wind and/or tide as you approach the cradle. Stop your boat when the mast lines up level with the front arms.

Adjust the four lines until the boat is positioned on the centreline of the cradle.

Shut down the motor.
